Position Description
Multiple Sclerosis Otago (MS Otago) supports people across the region who are living with MS and related neurological conditions. Through advocacy, information, connection and practical assistance, the organisation helps clients and whānau navigate complex challenges and live well in their communities.
We are seeking enthusiastic and community-minded individuals to join our Committee.
This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute your skills, broaden your governance experience, and support an organisation making a real difference for people throughout Otago.
Ideal Applicant
The role:
Committee members share responsibility for providing governance, strategic direction, and oversight of the organisation. The committee works closely with Community Connector and President to ensure services remain sustainable, responsive, and aligned with community need.
Meetings are held monthly, with occasional involvement in sub-committees or events.
We are looking for people who bring:
-Energy, sound judgement, and a collaborative approach
-A commitment to the wellbeing of people living with MS
-Skills or experience that could strengthen the committee (for example governance, finance, health, community connections, fundraising, communications, or HR)
-Previous board or committee experience is helpful but not essential. We welcome members who are new to governance and are keen to learn.
You must be based in Otago and able to attend regular meetings via zoom.
